Teaching Knife Skills

What I love most about cooking with kids is wrapping everything up in a bow of play. While I can ramble on about the influence of John Dewey, problem-based learning, and the importance of sensory-rich, art-making to the development of creative young thinkers, I'll get to the essence of this week's favorite philosophy: give children enough responsibility to wield knives, and make the lesson magical enough to "stick."
